Choosing a truck and wheels for your board may seem pretty straightforward but there are different types of wheels and trucks that can change the way you skate. There are two types of wheels commonly used, soft wheels or hard wheels. Soft wheels are mainly used for cruising over long distances, while hard wheels are more for tricks and street style skating. Ultimately there are two types of trucks as well regarding the way you skate there are the reverse kingpin trucks mainly used for longboards and cruising while there are the kingpin trucks which are the ones normally on skateboards for tricks. Don't forget to grab a skate tool which are very handy to in adjusting wheels or trucks.

When choosing trucks you want them to closely match the width of your truck for the best skating results. If you get them to narrow you will be unbalanced.
